Rocky Mount, North Carolina
Bishop Warren R. Palmer Sr. is the product of three generations of holiness preachers. These Men of God - Elder William R. Palmer Sr., Bishop William R. Palmer Jr., and Bishop Posey Diamond Smith helped to mold our Pastor to be the man after God's own heart. Bishop Palmer was born in Washington, D.C. on May 24, 1969 to the late Bishop William R. Palmer Jr. and Mother Lerah Palmer. He is the tenth sibling of fourteen children. He was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Jesus Name) on September 9, 1979. He later received the Holy Ghost - speaking with tongues as the spirit gave utterance in a January revival in1984. Four years later Bishop Palmer married Sister Pamela Nicholson on July 11, 1988. From this union was born two children (Precious and Warren Jr.). He served faithfully in the church as the youth department president, deacon, president of the men’s department, superintendent of Sunday school, adult class teacher, head percussionist and lead vocalist in the youth choir and men’s group.
January 1, 1992 Bishop Palmer was called in the ministry. As a minister in the church, he spoke for youth jubilee services, joy nights, revivals at his home church, jail ministries and other churches local and abroad. He was later ordained as Elder on July 14, 1996 by his father and pastor, Bishop William R. Palmer, Jr. When he was ordained, he was given the Bible and charged to “Preach the Word”! After being ordained, Bishop Palmer was often compared to Amos and called “The preacher of woes”, because of his passion and fervency in delivering the WORD of GOD. He was also given the name of “Sparky” because of his zeal for the Lord. In 1998, Bishop Palmer was commissioned to the role of pastor, by the leading of God while residing in Fort Washington, MD. The birth of the ministry known as True Vine Holiness Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostles’ Faith, Inc. was thus formed.
The first service for True Vine was held in Fort Washington at the home of Elder Palmer. In 2001 Bishop and Sister Palmer where blessed with twins (Ayshia Meagan and Ashton Diamond) and during the same year they were blessed to purchase a home in Cheltenham, MD, where they began to have services until November 2004. Bishop Palmer had announced some months prior to having any personal contacts in NC that the Lord was leading him there to begin the ministry. While holding services in their home in Maryland, two visitors traveling from Rocky Mount, NC were baptized in Jesus Name. These new converts being residents of Rocky Mount, NC was confirmation from the Lord leading our Pastor to begin a church there. When the ministry began Bishop Palmer and his family traveled to Rocky Mount two Sundays of each month. The additions to the family made the weekly travel from Cheltenham, MD to the south more than a challenge. After much fasting and praying it was decided that the pastor and his family would relocate to North Carolina.
Over the past 17 years we have faced many challenges and naysayers who said we would not make it, but God said Yes. Bishop Palmer, along with True Vine Church family has been blessed to experience the victory that only God can give. After the passing of the founder and our appointed Presiding Bishop James Lathan Drewry of True Vine Holiness Church Wilmington, DE, Bishop Warren R. Palmer, Sr. was consecrated and installed as Presiding Bishop of True Vine Holiness Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostles’ Faith, Inc. Rocky Mount, NC and True Vine Holiness Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Wilmington, DE. The Service of Consecration and Installation was performed by Bishop Wilbert Williams, Pastor of New Ransom Churches in Greensboro, NC on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00am in Wilmington, DE at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center. Bishop Palmer is a visionary, working diligently through the Alliance that God who gave him a vision in July 2010 to begin “The Repairers of the Breach Apostolic Alliance” by bringing preachers and pastors together to uphold the apostolic standard. We are on the mission according to what the Lord has given our leader. We are a church that expects to continue to experience victory as we face each and every test we confront. True Vine is now a ministry showing to mankind, that their greatest need is the Lord Jesus Christ. Many have started out with us but they have gone astray however, we are still holding on to God’s unchanging hand.
